Since 1963 the state of Israel has been commemorating, documenting, researching and educating others on the Holocaust through Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Martyrs and Heroes' Remembrance Authority. A key element of this program is the award of the Righteous Among the Nations, which honours those gentiles who saved, at their own peril, Jewish lives during the Holocaust. After an examination by a public commission, led by a Supreme Court Justice, successful nominees are recognised with a medal, a certificate of honour and an inscription of their names on the Wall of Honour in the Garden of the Righteous. Over twenty-two thousand interventionists, including Oskar Schindler and Raoul Wallenberg, from forty-four countries have all been bestowed with such honours. But Albert Göring, for all the Jewish lives he saved, has not received even a mention. We at Wolfgeist Publishing seek to change this by petitioning Yad Vashem to open Albert’s case and see him nominated for the title Righteous Among the Nations.
Please fill out the short form below to help give Albert’s legacy the acknowledgment that it deserves.
